Interested in a training programme that will help you gain their skills needed to access a career in tech?

We’ve partnered with Sheffield City Council to offer a 12 week coding bootcamp that is fully funded for people aged 18 or over who are unemployed.

The programme will provide participants with the same software developer training as our paid course.

No experience necessary other than a genuine interest in pursuing a career within tech.

Transition from a beginner – with no prior coding experience – to a job-ready Software Engineer in 12 weeks.

We spend a lot of time asking companies what specific skills they look for and design our live, remote curriculum to include learning activities that help you master each key skill.

In this course, we will cover:

To make sure they can dedicate the required 20 hours a week to complete the course, we ask potential students to complete some prework on our platform before starting the bootcamp.

Students start with front end development learning about the DOM and how to make websites with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Bootstrap, a front-end framework.

Our students also learn about UX, peripheral technologies, TDD, OOP and testing front-end applications.

Students learn React and how to use Redux, Express and Node.js to run code for the back end, and focus on ways of dealing with asynchronous programming.

Students also learn APIs and Databases.

Phase 3 is where students learn technologies outside the curriculum, such as PHP, Laravel, AWS and Azure.

Students then work together on a final project of their choosing using Agile principles to get hands on with a real, green-field team project. There’s no better way to consolidate and extend your knowledge and prove what you can do.

Software developers are the creative minds behind programs. Some develop applications so that users can perform specific tasks on a computer or alternative device. Others develop the systems to run the devices or control networks. You can find more information on what to expect from a software developer role here
Software development is a highly sought after skill. As entities move online and online users demand so much more from their experience, a talented software developer will always be in demand. It is estimated that by 2023, there will be opportunities for around 5 million new developers.
Perhaps the most frustrating thing about entering a new industry is the level of experience employers are looking for. Our course includes the creation of a portfolio so that you can showcase your skills to potential employers. You’ll also gain access to career coaches, giving you every advantage.
