Interested in a training programme that will help you gain their skills needed to access a career in tech?

We’ve partnered with Sheffield College and the Department for Education to offer a 12 week Networking Fundamentals bootcamp that is fully funded for people aged 19 or over who are unemployed.

The programme will provide participants with a Cisco qualification and guaranteed job interview, there is also extensive job support to help you find your first role. 

No experience necessary other than a genuine interest in pursuing a career within tech.  

The foundations of networking: switches, routers, and wireless access points

Switches, routers, and wireless access points are the essential networking basics. Through them, devices connected to your network can communicate with one another and with other networks, like the Internet. Switches, routers, and wireless access points perform very different functions in a network.

Transition from a beginner – with no prior coding experience – to a job-ready Junior Network Engineer.

In this course, we will cover:
  • This course is for anyone who wants to attain the Comp TIA Network+ qualification 
  • Describe network fundamentals and build simple LANs
  • Explain IP addressing and subnetting
  • Describe hubs, switches and routers
  • Explain the OSI and TCP/IP models
  • Explain how addresses are allocated using DHCP
  • Explain name resolution using DNSExplain Access Control Lists (ACLs)
  • Explain Wi-Fi 6 and other Wi-Fi technologies
  • Explain how to protect networks from attacks such as Kali Linux hacks

No! We don’t require our students to hold a strong understanding of coding to gain a place on our course. We cover absolutely everything, including coding basics, and you will be taking on projects to practice and increase your chances of success.
